A Note from Chelsey

Josh Bergasse had only ever known me as a dancer, and he reached out and asked if I wanted to be his assistant on this project— he needed someone with strong classical ballet technique. The piece was commissioned for the Moab Music Festival, performed in the desert in Utah. It was a really fascinating context: incredible musicians, deeply classical work, in one of the most otherworldly landscapes on earth. 

Once we took it out to Moab, Josh wasn't going to be there — so it became mine. There were some extraordinary dancers in it, and I loved getting to put my classical training to work in a way that doesn't always happen in musical theater.
