A Note from ChelseySt. Ann's was a bucket list venue for me. And to get to work with film and stage icons like Michelle Williams, Tom Sturridge, Brian d'Arcy James, on such a classic piece — an absolute privilege. Fun fact: it was also the first show St. Ann's ever originated and created entirely in-house. Most productions have been developed elsewhere, but this was the first time it was produced from the ground up internally.
The show received a NYT Critic’s Pick. The set was simple made up of wooden pallets that shifted and reconfigured for each act, making new worlds with very simple material. For example, there were over 5,000 green bottles used to make the “sea” in the image above.
