A Note from ChelseyThis was an a very technically driven complex job that I took on while being remote. Each American Girl doll had to be choreographed individually using motion capture software — you record yourself doing the movement, upload it, and the animation software connects to it. Technology is a beautiful thing and all of this was delivered over the internet, with multiple uploads after feedback and adjustments. As complicated as it was, it was funny learning the constraints of an American Girl Doll: raising your arms over your head doesn't read well, and you have to be mindful of what the characters are wearing at all times.
I was in California, working out of a dance studio while on another job simultaneously. It was so cool — and honestly, incredibly fun!
